About Your Personal Trainer

​I'm Tanya Gillen, creator of Tanya Gillen Health & Wellness.  I am a native of Crosby, North Dakota.  I've spent my last two years in Colorado Springs, CO and worked as a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor.  I also worked for Colorado Sports and Spine Clinic as a Physical Therapy Technician.  Previous to those years, I spent two years in Grand Forks, ND working for Center Court Fitness Club and nine years in Fargo, ND.  Fargo is where my life in the health and wellness industry began.

In 1999, I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND.  From there, I moved to Fargo and worked in retail.  I quickly learned that was not the route I wanted to take with my career.  I returned back to school at Minnesota State University-Moorhead and achieved a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and Exercise Science.  From there, I worked as a Physical Therapy Aide for MeritCare.  I also expanded my experiences and worked in Cardiology, with goals to become a Cardiac Rehab Specialist.  During this time, I also began working for TNT Kids Fitness, which prompted me to become a personal trainer, and lead me to a career with Lady Wellness.  I quickly learned how to be a group exercise instructor, and put my rehab expertise to use while personal training clients.  I take pride in the knowledge and education I have learned over the years.  There are many personal trainers in this industry that do not have half the experiences I have.  For all that is mentioned above is what has made me the professional I have become today.  And for that, I am grateful.  ​
